インターナショナルクラス・コースでは、英語力に特化し国際的に活躍できる人材の育成を目指しています。入学時の英語力の条件は、入学後のカリキュラムと関係しています。

今回はCambridge International School認定校としての特徴的なカリキュラムについてご紹介していきます。

本校は2021年の4月に、日本国内の国公私立中高として初めてCambridge International School（以下CIS)に認定されました。

インターナショナルクラス（中学校）及びコース（高校）ではそれまでも、理科と数学の授業は英語で行われ(数学の一部は日本語)、英語の授業では、中学ではPBLを中心とした英語で自身が学びを体現する授業を、高校では英文学と哲学、アカデミック英語を学んできましたが、CIS認定校として、それらの教科においてCISのカリキュラムである、IGCSE※1、AS※2Aレベル相当の教科を導入し、希望する生徒は試験を受験することができるようになりました。

試験に合格すると、条件を満たせば国内外の大学入学資格として活用することも可能です。

＜CIS科目の特徴＞

教科に関する深い知識と理解及び高次思考力の育成を目的とし、その達成に必要なスキルを学ぶことに重きを置きます。異なる学問分野に共通する概念的な理解を生徒に促すよう、高次思考力が必要な問題解決、批判的思考、独立したリサーチ、他者とのコラボレーションや、議論の組み立てなどを、教科を通じて学ぶことを目的とします。

自信がある(Confident)

自分の、そして他人の情報や考えを扱うことに自信がある。 学習者は、自信に満ち、自分の知識に確信を持ち、物事を当然と考えず、知的リスクを取る用意がある。また、体系的、批判的、分析的な方法でアイデアや議論を探求し評価することに熱心である。また、他人の意見を尊重しながらも、自身の意見や考えを伝えまた立証することができる。

Cambridge learners are confident, secure in their knowledge, unwilling to take things for granted and ready to take intellectual risks. They are keen to explore and evaluate ideas and arguments in a structured, critical and analytical way. They are able to communicate and defend views and opinions as well as respect those of others.

責任がある（Responsible）

自身に責任を持ち、他者に対応し、尊重する。学習者は、自分の学習にオーナーシップを持ち、目標を設定し、知的誠実さを主張する。また、コラボレーションに取り組み、支え合うことができる。自分の行動が、他者や環境に影響を与えることを理解する。文化、背景、コミュニティの重要性を理解する。

振り返る（Reflective）

学習者として振り返り、学習能力を伸ばす。自分自身を学習者として理解することができる。学習の成果だけでなく、その過程にも関心を持ち、生涯学習者であるための自覚と方法を身につける。

革新的である（Innovative）

革新的で、新しいことや将来のチャレンジへの準備ができている。新しい挑戦を歓迎し、臨機応変に、創造的に、想像力を働かせて挑戦する。自分の知識と理解を応用して、新しい問題や不慣れな問題を解決することができる。新しい考え方を必要とする新しい状況にも、柔軟に対応することができる。

They are capable of applying their knowledge and understanding to solve new and unfamiliar problems. They can adapt flexibly to new situations requiring new ways of thinking.

積極的である（Engaged）

知的にも社会的にも積極的で、変化をもたらすことができる。好奇心旺盛で、探究心を体現し、もっと深く掘り下げたいと考える。新しいスキルを身につけることに熱心で、新しいアイデアを受け入れることができる。また、単独で、あるいは他者と協力して物事に取り組むことができる。地域、国、そしてグローバルな単位で、社会及び経済の創生に寄与することができる。

They are keen to learn new skills and are receptive to new ideas. They work well independently but also with others.
